February 16, 2022: WhatIF Foods and Pond Foundation partner to grow the ripple of change

We are pleased to announce that WhatIF Foods has become Pond Foundation’s newest member.

Inspiring relationships are at the forefront of our work here at Pond Foundation. Living by our values, it was a no-brainer that our founder Scott Poynton and WhatIF Foods’ founder Christoph Langwallner came together to embark on a journey that is paving the way to bring about global food system change.

WhatIF Foods is a Singapore-based food company founded on regenerative principles. Together, we believe that sustainability is not enough to combat climate change and change our destructive production systems. We believe that regenerative processes are the way to a global food system that promotes healthier diets, agrobiodiversity and a fairer economy.

WhatIF Foods’ three pillars of ReGeneration consist of creating nourishing foods that not only fill you up but bring nutritional benefits, respecting and restoring the land we live on to ensure that no damage is being made to the planet, and creating beneficial livelihoods for farming communities.

Our joint effort in making this a reality is starting at the grass-roots in northern Ghana. We’ll be working there with the women-led farming communities that produce Bambara Groundnuts. Bambara groundnuts are a complete and nutritious food that thrives in harsh conditions, requires little resources, fixes nitrogen, and helps build an underground root system that encourages soil restoration. Scott is already there, on the ground, working to bring this vision to life.

With the project still in its infancy, we’ll be sharing the journey ahead each step of the way so you can follow along.
